Benefits Program

Benefits are a significant part of your total compensation package at Star Furniture.


There are two plans: The Basic Plan has a core level of benefits. The Enhanced Plan has increased benefits, coupled with higher premiums.


Employees have the option to purchase dental coverage. There are two plans available: the Dental Maintenance Organization (DHMO) and the Traditional Indemnity plan.


Employees have the option to purchase vision coverage that provides an eye exam with a reasonable co-payment, plus a discount on eyeglasses, contact lenses, and Lasik surgery when provided by participating providers.

Basic Life and Accidental Death & Dismemberment Insurance All full-time employees who enroll in the medical plan are provided with a basic life and accidental death & dismemberment insurance. Employee spouses and children are covered with a lesser amount provided they are enrolled in the medical plan.

Voluntary Life Insurance

Additional life insurance may be purchased. The cost is based on age, smoking preference and the amount of coverage desired.

Dependent Life Insurance

Life insurance may also be purchased for your spouse and/or dependents. The cost is based on age, smoking preference and the amount of coverage desired (may not exceed the coverage amount elected by the employee).

401 (k) Plan

Associates can contribute up to 100% of their salary up to the annual IRS limit in this tax deferred retirement plan. The contribution percentage may be changed quarterly. The company has a generous matching program. All full-time associates 18 years and over who complete more than 1,000 hours in a calendar year are eligible to participate.

Employee Banking Program

All employees are able to enjoy service charge free checking and free checks through a special program provided by Star’s banking partner, Amegy Bank.

Credit Union

Payroll deducted savings are available with our full service credit union.


All regular status, non-sales associates are granted paid holidays on the major holidays, plus a floating holiday.


Associates who have been working at least six months in a calendar year are eligible for two weeks of paid vacation. Additional vacation days are available with additional years of service.

Associate Purchase Plan

Associates may purchase merchandise at a discounted rate for their personal use, for a relative solely dependent on them, or for gifts purchased with the associates’ own money.
