Joan's interior design background is quite impressive! She studied interior design at Drexel University, where she received her Bachelor of Science. She's designed model homes in the New York metro area (plus a Tribeca discotheque) and did custom design for three "Mansion in May" show houses. She has had the experience of been part of ASID and the Federal Interior Designers. A north-easterner turned Texan, Joan was the Facilities Designer for the Veterans Administration Medical Centers in both New Jersey and Houston.

Joan's design focus is "a loose interpretation of classic traditional, with a blend of modern."

She says, "I believe the client should know they 'why' of their selections (i.e.; quality, design considerations, function and budget). I like to show them options and let them make informed decisions."

"A room is not finished without accessories and artwork that is meaningful to the occupants – that is what brings life to a space! The most important thing I've learned in my long career is to love each day. There is nothing I'd rather be doing!"

Joan's commitment to her clients earned her Star Furniture's Entrepreneur of the Year award in 2007, and the Associate of the Quarter award in 2008.
