One fortunate Galveston resident hit the post-Ike jackpot. Patricia B. visited the grand opening of Star Furniture's new Clear Lake store to find dining room furniture for her home. She entered her name into a random drawing the store was hosting for the May 4 event, bought some furniture and left.
Patricia ended up winning the drawing's grand prize: a $25,000 package that includes furnishings of her choice and the professional assistance of an interior designer. Not bad, considering she lost everything in Hurricane Ike in 2008. She has been gradually reassembling her home since then.
With her prize, Patricia can finally finish her home. She is even using some of her winnings to help furnish the homes of others.
“I've never had a professional redo my home before,” Patricia said. “I'm really looking forward to redoing my living room and dining room with Lucia.” That's Lucia Gentry, Star Furniture's in-store designer at the Clear Lake location.
The staff at Star was more than happy to present the grand prize to such a deserving customer. Patricia's interior makeover plans are currently underway.
